In order to prevent an autism meltdown, you need to have a good idea of when it might happen, and what could cause it. Identify Situations Which Frequently Cause Meltdowns There are some commonalities however, and triggers which cause most meltdowns.Īnd while not all of them are avoidable, a good majority can be prevented, or at least managed to an acceptable level. They are not intentional, they aren’t done just so the autistic person can get their way, and they certainly aren’t fun for anyone involved, INCLUDING the person having the meltdown! We all know (or at least should know) that autism meltdowns are not tantrums.
